In September we (Cannes in a Van) hosted The Van d’Or Independent Film Awards 2012 (Powered by Ford), with the institution that is Barry Norman presiding over the evening. The ambitious 350-strong event was the culmination of 2 months of hard work which resulted in awards for films in 15 categories including a ‘Student Film in Transit’ award for current students and recent graduates.
Below is a video comp from the night. Read more at cannesinavan.com/the-van-dor-awards/
I curate a monthly music & film night called Screen Social. It’s purpose is to provide the audience with film, animation & motion design content in a relaxed, social setting, where they can drink, watch films, listen to live acts and catch up with friends without sitting in silence. Screen Social promotes new directors and musicians to a receptive crowd.
More information about this project can be found at screensocial.com.
I launched the ‘creative bureau’ The Dot & The Line in 2010. We draw on the resources of a wide-range of professional contacts, meaning we can take a project from pencil sketch to full campaign. Services include branding & identity, video production, events, web design, editorial publishing & more
Throughout my editorial career I have been involved in web design. Now over half the creative projects I do have a digital-base. I’m currently involved with the launch of an innovative interiors e-commerce site for launch in 2013.
I run ‘the four-wheel film festival’ Cannes in a Van. Now in its sixth year, we take submitted independent films to the heart of The Cannes Film Festival and screen them straight from the back of a Ford Transit van. For 2012 we were pleased to welcome Ford on board as our main sponsor for the festival. cannesinavan.com
